Chapter 21
Elayna woke up to the loud sound of thunder rumbling. The room was even darker than it had been when she had first fallen asleep. She pushed the covers back and got up from the bed. She went to the large window and pulled the curtains back. She was astonished at the chaos going on outside.
The wind was furiously blowing. The trees were bending in unusual ways. The rain was coming down in a slanted horizontal angle, while the lightning and thunder added even more of a foreboding effect. She swallowed hard. Nick had been right. The storm had come just as he had predicted.
She picked her phone up and noticed she still had no contact from her husband. Not even a single text. She tried not to be mad, but it nagged her. She checked the time and realized she had been asleep for quite awhile. She had slept the day away.

18 Hours ago…Nick had no idea how he was going to get to Elayna.He had watched her very closely.
