Her eyes adjusted in the darkness. Where was she? The room she was in was dark, and she could feel someone’s grip on her hand. Although there was a dim light in the room, it wasn’t so bright to see the color of things properly. She turned her head to look at the person who was next to her. It was Alexander; she could tell by his hair. His head was on the bed, next to their joined hand.

Alexander tried to unclasp their hand. Had he been waiting for her? She sat up, and a headache throbbed in her head. She remembered all that had happened. Roxie had pushed her into the room and locked her inside; she remembered freezing to death.

She smiled; just the thought of Alexander staying with her was great, and she was loving every bit of it. She wondered what Roxie was doing. Roxie was probably happy that she was at the hospital.
