A Tangled Web

The next day, Chris arrived at the office with a bouquet of flowers in hand, determined to make things right with Mariah. As he approached her desk, he cleared his throat to get her attention.

"Mariah, I owe you an apology," he began, offering her the bouquet. "I was out of line yesterday, and I shouldn't have spoken to you the way I did."

Mariah looked up, surprised by the gesture. She accepted the flowers with a small smile, her eyes softening. "Thank you, Chris. Apology accepted," she replied, her voice warmer than before.
