CHAPTER 41- SUICIDE ATTEMPT

  

  Silence enveloped the room as Mrs. Gladys stood still in her position, her eyes filled with tears. She deserved to be shouted at, beaten, or even killed because she was a bad mother. 

  A mother that never cared about the welfare of her only daughter. All she and her husband cared about was money. Money is the root of all evil was no doubt a bitter truth in a great sense.

  They spend most of their lives harnessing wealth without thinking of other things, most especially their daughter. Their love of money was like chasing after wind, as it is in futility. Their emotional, physical and spiritual strength drained at the expense of wealth.

  "Rachael, please, I don't want to see her. Just tell her to get out of my life," Gloria held on to Rachael as she wept.
