Everyone at the table was taken aback at Mr. Kane's sudden appearance. He drank the beer in my glass and glared at Ms. Kaye, who now apologetically stood there, together with everyone.

Mr. Kane didn't say a word and just pulled me away from them. He was silent but his face showed he was angry.
