Chapter 37 - The twins

She was now eight months pregnant, as much as she loved carrying their baby she was anxious for it to come. Her back hurt, her ankles were swollen and she was having some serious mood swings. It got on her nerves sometimes when he would be so protective, always after her to lay down and take it easy that she would snap at him, feeling terrible for doing so. No matter what she said or put him through he never once lost his temper with her.

Jake was hiding out in his office, trying to stay clear of the volcano who was once his sweet and loving wife. Lately, she was one minute his sweet princess, the next minute like the Tasmanian Devil. When he heard her calling him and her footsteps coming he got to his feet, looking for an escape and feeling like a coward. He was almost out of the patio door when she walked into his office.

“Didn’t you hear me calling you,” she said in an angry tone.

He cleared his throat, running his finger around his collar. “No sweetheart, did you want something?”
