Chapter forty

The whole place was quiet, and all I could see was the sky, looking as beautiful as ever and I knew that somewhere up there, the moon goddess was staring at me.

I got off the chair I was seated on, and the moment I got off it, I realized that I could walk. My jaw dropped in shock as I stared at myself, and surprisingly, I wasn’t clad in the blood soaked clothes I was in back at the hospital.

To be sure I could walk, I took a few steps forward, and I didn’t feel any pain walking. I smiled as I looked around, the place was empty. There was nothing, no trees, no people, just me, and the chair I was on earlier was nowhere to be found.

“Hello?” I called, confused as I turned. Where was I and why was I alone? Where did the people go? I took in a deep inhale as I looked around.

“Do you want to die?” A gentle yet resonating voice echoed through the whole place and I staggered as I looked around.
