Chapter thirty nine

AMELIA’s POV…

I didn’t think I had it in me to cry anymore. As the needle was taken out of me, I let out a gasp, opening my eyes as I stared at the ceiling. This had to be the worst day of my life because it was the day I felt the most pain.

Again, like the other four times, I was wheeled out of the ward, and walking out, I could see what I wanted to call ‘remorse’ in Alpha Alexander’s eyes, but I didn’t want to give myself hope that he really did care.

For all I knew, he could just be putting up a show. I gasped as he came over to my side, holding my hand as the doctors walked back into the ward.

Ever since they started running the tests on me, he insisted that when they wanted to see the results, they brought me out so he could hold my hand.

It did make me feel a little better, but whenever he let go of my hand, again, so I could go for more tests, I just felt even and I swear, I had died more than twenty times today because of the pain I had inflicted on myself.
