CHAPTER 42

My alarm goes off making me groan in frustration. I reach for my phone sleepily and snooze it. I don’t like this. I'm still sleepy but I can’t afford to continue sleeping because my boss is a jerk.

I struggle to open my eyes and get out of bed sleepily. I strip naked and walk into the bathroom. I turn the faucet on and let the cold water drip down my body. It helps me wake up completely.

This place sucks. My boss sucks and I can’t afford to be late. I take a quick shower and walk out of the bathroom.

I style my hair into a neat ponytail and put on the sucking uniform. I look at myself in the mirror and walk out. I walk down the hallway and into the kitchen, widening my eyes at the person seated on one of the bar stools.

It’s Amara. What is she doing here? How did she get here?

“Good morning sweetheart? Look like you have seen a ghost.” She says with a sneer. She crosses her legs and gives me a grin. A goofy grin.

“Good morning too. What are you doing here?” I ask moving to the count
