Mateo open his mouth but was interrupted by the baby’s cries once again. He look at the baby beside her and was about to take him into his arms when Carissa beat her to it.
Immediately after, the baby ceased crying and let out a giggle as Carissa played with him.
“He’s such a crybaby.” Mateo sighed helplessly.
He didn’t recall himself crying like that in his childhood.
Carissa forgot the tense atmosphere they were having and smiled tenderly towards the baby.
Mateo was mesmerized by her beauty once again and his heart couldn’t help beating fast inside his heart as he stared at the woman before him.
She gave birth to his child and had even stayed behind at the cost of her life just so she could help the witches escape.
Mateo also realizes that she could actually escape without fail if she wanted to, but she stayed because he threatened her with the baby.
