Patrick's POV

( few days later)

Sitting in front of them in the living room, I nervously played with my fingers. I had called them out from whatever they were doing so I could tell them what happened. Taking in a deep breath, I settled my gaze on them.

"So why did you call us?" My mom asked, breaking the weird silence that had ensued.

"Mom, dad. There's something I need to tell you."

"We're all ears. " My dad replied.

I sighed, rubbing my palms together. Taking in a shaky breath, I made to speak.

"Mom... Dad, I might be in trouble." I began. Mom stared at me, surprise in her eyes.

"What did you do?"

"I-it happened before we moved here. I had hosted a goodbye party a few weeks before you told me we were moving. At that party, however, someone died. "

"What!? " they chorused together. I swallowed.

"She was a classmate of mine, but we weren't close. I had invited her to the party but unfortunately, she lost her life. Her name's Alyssa Anthony. "
