Alex's P. O. V

Arriving at my parents house moments later, I rushed in, my head in a frenzy.

" Mom! Dad!? Where are you?" I called out, looking around. Hazel just stared at me, a confused look on her face.

" Where's dad?" I asked and she shrugged.

" I don't know."

" Mom! Where are you?" I called out, louder this time.

She came to the living room moments later.

" Alex... Why, what are you doing here?"

" I came to see you? Where's dad? "

" Uhmm... He went out. Why do you ask? "

" Can you call him up, I want to hear his voice. "

" O-okay... " She muttered and brought out her phone, calling him. The phone rang for some time, with no one picking up.

" He's not picking up." She said and I gulped, my heart pounding.

" Try again. " I muttered, my voice thick.

" I've tried again. He's really not picking up. This never happens. " She muttered to herself. Glancing at me, she continued "What's going on? "
