Chapter 17

Kiara's pov

I scrambled out of the car as soon as it rolled to a stop, desperate to put distance between me and the man standing beside me in the car. Being confined in such a small place was suffocating and had my heart pounding so hard. I dressed my glasses so that they fit perfectly.I wished I could untie my hair because I definitely look like that nerdy girl who could be easily intimidated. The house even looked more intimidating when I stood before it, and every wall was lined with armed guards with guns tucked into their belts.

I looked back to see the big black gate that had sealed me inside. They were impenetrable, standing at least twenty feet tall. The cold wind howled through the iron, rattling it.As the atmosphere became more pervasive, I shivered.
