KIARA'S POV
I shut my eyes and with my hands blocked the content from touching my face. I stayed in that manner for minutes but I didn't feel my body wet. Was I hallucinating? How could the liquid I saw leaving the glass not on me yet?
I opened my eyes to find out myself, someone had blocked the wine from splashing on me. His face isn't t clear due to his mask but his stature was great.
"Don't be harsh bitch! " he uttered the last word raucously stretching the letter. The girl snarled and left.
"It's alright," said the man, with a charming smile. I bet his face would look good too. He does not prompt me with conflicting feelings. I felt as comfortable as I would feel beside Mila. I can see how balanced he is at the moment.
"Thank y... " I am still saying but he turns around and leaves without another word. I don't understand what I did wrong. Maybe my gestures drive him away, I remember reading novels about a party where every gesture has its meaning. Whether you should accept someone or reject him are all with gestures. Words have no power there. I only dressed my hair that was almost covering my eyes. Should I chase after him to help him clean up the mess? ... No! , something else might happen. If this truly is the kind of party where words are powerless, he might misunderstand and think that I am interested in him
I look around, confused. I wanted to find my friend to clear up my confusion but she was nowhere to be found. All the people around me were in pairs. I was the only one alone. I felt a bit isolated.
I take another glass of wine. This will be the last, I promised myself. I wouldn't like to get drunk in this kind of atmosphere. I sip the content slowly. The feeling of wanting to be with someone disappeared.
I really wish I could be on my cozy bed right now, covering my whole body with my blanket. That feeling is all I want right now. This will be the last time I will ever let myself be persuaded and brought to a place I didn't want to be. Not by anyone, not even Mila
The atmosphere is getting tenser for me. Thanks to the glass of heaven wine in my hand. It gives me an elated feeling. I picked an interesting couple and focused on them. It's lovely watching the two love birds. Hmmm, having a boyfriend might be interesting. I never tried again since after my liaison with Micheal. He promised to stand by me but where is he now? We broke up after I denied him sex. He claimed he would never date a woman that is not sex-driven. That was when I concluded that men are really only after your pants, nothing more. It's been 3 years now.
MATEO'S POV.
"You saw her right? , Get her for me!" I order Felix my assistant as I rush to my hotel room to change my jacket.
"The fair one with a mask?" Felix asks. I looked up at him with my stick of cigarette blowing hot. With my left hand, I hold up his Collar so tight. My blood boils in annoyance that he'd questioned me.
"Sorry boss" he apologizes with a sorry face. After so much thought I decided to let him go.
" I won't spare your fucked damn ass if she doesn't show up in thirty minutes" I made sure that his breath was almost choked with the smoke from the cigarette.
He bowed his head and exited the room. Coughing continually. I couldn't contain my anger anymore. No, I was more anxious than annoyed. I wanted to confirm what I felt earlier.
" Why the hell did I do that?" I sighed recalling how I block the wine from splashing on the masked girl. It was so much unlike myself. On normal terms even when I shot my bullets, I never cared who got hurt or killed in as much as my target goes down with them.
Lighting up yet the third stick of cigarette... I move over to the study table. Carefully I glanced through the contract file
I am already getting more uncomfortable staying in the hotel room. Soon, I would get the work done and get the information about my Parents' kidnapper.
Earlier the day, Mr. Anderson had offered me a contract to assassinate one of his business rivals. Annoyed that he belittled me to a contract killer, and requested I kill the mother fucker with a kitchen knife instead of my newly launched gun.
I almost blatantly declined the contract but on hearing his pay, I wouldn't hesitate. What I wanted more than any other thing. He offered to use his connection and find out about what happened 11 years ago at my pack.
I have killed hundreds of humans for this information, I couldn't afford to miss the deal. The venue was biviclub and the target was Mr. Christopher. A famous billionaire womanizer CEO.
Just then , my phone buzzed. The caller identity was showing Mr. Anderson. I clicked on the blue botton and fixed the phone to my ear.
"He just got in... , room 201"came the voice at the other end u
KIARA'S POV Slowly, I walk away from the place I was standing. I was the center of their attention. I look for the coziest homey place to hide. But instead barged into the girl I met earlier. She was looking viciously at me like she has been waiting patiently for me to cross her path again. "What have I done?" Was the only word that escaped my mouth. I swallow hard and walk away until I discover I need to run headlong. Suddenly I bump into a man. His eyes were green and glowing. Even in the dim light, they attract attention. They stare at me with conflagration, evaluating my body. He poked his nose at my face. Sniffing recklessly. I moved away with a brisk smile. He drew closer and look shamelessly at me. Countless Goosebumps appear on my skin. I move back again, he was impermissible close! I whip my hair forward to cover my cleavage. He chuckled, shyly and muttered something I couldn't hear... "Good catch," he says hoarsely, running a stream of current within my vein. I notice
KIARA'S POV He presses me to the wall and looks me in the eye. I feel he is talking directly to my soul. " No! You got it wrong, I'm sorry for barging into your room but I had to, to save my..." I am almost pleading with him. "In this room, you obey my rules" he chuckles. I am no longer pinned to the wall. I am standing in front of his bed. I should have known that he plans to have me on his bed when he released me. "What if I don't" I tried to hide the quiver in my voice. "Then you will be punished," he says smoothly. Coming closer and closer to me. If I move a little backward, I will fall to his bed. That was his plan and I knew it. What if I decide to stay standing? He will continue moving closer. What should I do? My brain almost burst while sorting out options. My heart beats faster than usual. Maybe I am watching television right now and replacing myself with the characters or perhaps reading a story. This is what happens in movies and stories only. Could it be happening
KIARA'S POV The loud beeping sound of my phone alarm wakes me from sleep. I open my eyes and shut them immediately. The rays of the sun were directly reflecting on my face. I turn to my other side, backing the sunlight. My body is weak. My bones seem fractured. I manage to lie on my back again. Something is different. My old ceiling appears to be neater. In fact New. I stood up hastily and with my eyes scan the room. It looks different and more fashionable. I have been to this kind of fancy room not more than five times in my whole life. Where am I? And why am I here? I ask myself but no response came. My head is still heavy. I try to remember the last thing that happened to me. "Yes, I came to the party with Mila, and the next thing... I lost her to the crowd. What the hell happened next? ... " I am going mad with thought. I scratch my hair in frustration. "And then...the man with green glowing eyes chase after me. And...And. Omg did he ra...pe..??? No!, my dress is still on m
6 MATEO'S POV I took the small pocket knife that had been resting on my black suitcase and stuffed it into the front pocket of my jean jacket.Putting out my cigarette, I stood up to leave. The information I needed about Mr. Anderson has been sent, including his photograph and his room number. Just as I was about to turn the doorknob, the door opened by itself. Quickly going over to my suitcase, I take out an M9 pistol and crook it, waiting to blast the head off any unwanted guest. I immediately feel jolted by electricity within me. Like the way I felt earlier when the masked girl entered, She is panting heavily, like someone who has been chased by kidnappers. "Mate!" As I pinned her body to the wall, I couldn't help but think.Ever since I left my pack, I have been searching endlessly for her, and here she is, in the most unexpected environment. I could see the fear and shock in her enticing, constellation-blue eyes as she gazed at me. "I'm sorry for entering your room without
MATEO'S POV"The job is done, my pay? " It is the first thing I say to the man at the other end of the cell phone once I leave the room. "Room 200," The masculine voice says and then the line went dead. I cannot imagine that he was in the next room, listening as I kill his business associate. I hate this fact about humans. Backstabbers! From the hallway, I move to the room and place a harsh but quiet knock on the door. I don't want to draw attention to myself." I'm here!" I said to the old winter white-haired man. His eyes are blood-flecked. I can't tell if it were because of his old age or things he had smoked, anyone, I couldn't help but stare at his timeworn face which was graced with a goatee."I'm here," I said again, impatiently. I don't know who exactly to talk to, the old man in an armchair who seem to be the boss or any of the two hefty men who stood by his side. My guess was right, the old man is the boss. He stood up and walks towards me. His footstep is unsteady on his
KIARA'S POV. " Jim! You... You?.. "How are you driving a cab?" I ask many questions at the same time. I haven't seen him in a long time. The billionaire's son, who used to be my bestie, We were fine until he started confessing love—that feeling you get when your best friend does that—I plainly told him he was like a sister to me. These lines annoyed him like fuck. "Not even a brother, it's a sister," he commented. "It's not a cab." Does it look like one? "I see you were in a hurry, so I offered you a ride."He said it with a smile. "Ohhh... Thanks, sis!" As I say this, I lean back in my chair. "Wtf" Mila and Jim join the chorus.Jim immediately halts the car. I know his blood is really boiling. I never forget to remind him that he is like my own sister. a sister I never had. Then Mila should be my elder sister, while he should be the younger. "I'm truly sorry, Jim.It was a mistake, okay. I apologized, realizing he would never turn on the ignition again until I did so. He nods. One
9 KIARA'S POV "I'm so sorry I came a little bit late," I apologize to my coworkers. "You should be sorry if you appear a minute later. He is here," Jenny muttered to me. Mr. Frank came in and walked around to survey the kitchen. No one is missing. He nods his head while moving around the kitchen with his hands behind him. Soon he will be done with his morning routine. Orders started coming in. My love for cooking has always been fueled by my love for produce. I knew I was a good cook, but somehow I wish that I had gone to college. Almost all my high school friends went to college; I feel like I'm the only one left out. If I hadn't grown up with my grandma, or perhaps if I had grown up alone after the tragedy that befell my family, I don't know if I would be on the path I am today. From a very young age, grandma would take me fishing. We will hike to the mountain top and fish in the deep fjord. We would pick berries, mushrooms, and herbs. My favorite moment then was to stand in
KIARA'S POV "Won't you tell me already?" Mila asks, her eyeballs staring directly at mine. It was so embarrassing to me that I can't even remember vividly what happened last night. His face—I might not be able to tell if I see him again."Forget it, Mila, have you forgotten about our pinkie swear not to talk about this again?" "Mmm," she sighed. We walk down the not-too-busy asphalt road that leads to our house quietly. Mila's apartment is just a stone's throw from mine.A black Ferrari suddenly stops before us."Are you daft?" "You almost knocked us down," I said. But the car stands still without the owner even wailing the glass frame down.My heart sank into my stomach when Mila shoved a big stone into the car's trunk. "What the heck, Mila?" I screamed with my eyes wide open in surprise. She has let her bad temper take hold of her. Her body was vibrating in anger. What I said wasn't her concern. I now know why she was so annoyed. I see the dusty stain on her cloth, and obviously
