The howling wind rattled the windowpanes in the bitter, damp night outside. I twisted and turned under my thin covers. My teeth chattered in the chilly air around me. I couldn't sleep. My sweat dripped down my forehead, and my heart was thumping hard against my chest. I was always afraid of the dark, and I still am. But this was the first time I had slept alone in a hollow, ominous, and shadowy room with no wallpaper.

I stood up immediately once I heard her from outside. Someone was beckoning at me. I kept on walking until I spotted something that looked like an animal. It was pretty and huge. Really do pretty that I felt like placing my head on the fur, messaging it, and owing it to myself.

It was graced with a broader head and shorter legs. It has longer front legs than hind legs, a thicker tail, and smaller ears. Its toes are heavily splayed, possibly giving it a flat-footed gait like that of a bear. Its fur is very long and shaggy and may be thick enough to protect it from bulle
