"Why? " I stuttered. They both took a glance at me and then resumed their work as if they were suddenly being watched. I couldn't tell what I did wrong; I just had to sit in the chair beside it, waiting patiently for a more humane person to come around.

About thirty minutes later the door opened, revealing Caleb Mateo's assistant—that's what he was introduced as; I won't know if he is something more or less.

"Caleb. Thank God you are here. Can I see Mateo?" I stood up and rushed over to him.

"Hey, back off!" "What do you want now?" Caleb thundered with a big frown on his face. I wanted to almost leave, but that won't happen. I am more determined to stay here until I see Mateo.

"Why are they stopping me to see Mateo?" I asked desperately.

"Because I ordered them not to let you in," he answered bluntly.

"Why? He is damn sick and needs me right now.

"Needs you? How could he need you when you refused to go back to him even when he pleaded for the first time in his life and you ignored
