The first gift
Liam gazed at Carmen and a grin appeared on his face and it wasn't long when he burst into a laugh.
Carmen removed her focus from her breakfast and placed it on Liam as she stared at him.
“Is the a problem?” Carmen calmly asked.
“Are you not hungry?” Liam inquired while forcing himself to stop laughing.
Carmen reluctantly stared down at her plate and it came as no shock to her that she had barely eaten much.
‘It’s not like I am not starving, but this moment feels like a rare dream that I don't want to end, and the only thing keeping this dream going is this food.’ Carmen sadly thought as she pitifully looked at her breakfast.
“If you don't like it, you can order something different from the menu, or I can take you to another restaurant.” Liam gently said.
Carmen lifted her head and stared at her husband for about two minutes. She then let out a depressing sigh.

After Carmen left his office, Liam stared at his phone for a long time. Then he grabbed it from the desk and made a call.Dax was in the middle of reviewing a document when he noticed his phone buzzing.
