CALEB

The soft knock on the door got my eyes flying open.

I groaned in annoyance, fuming at the unwanted disturbance whoever at the door was giving me this early morning. I sat up and flung a loose shirt over my body before sprinting out of the bed. I shuffled to the door, unlocked it, and pulled it open.

“Mrs. Joyce?” I groaned, rubbing my forehead, my lips pursed in anger.

“Good morning, sir, I brought your coffee,” Mrs. Joyce beamed.

The smile on her face made the anger spurting in me dwindle.

I stared at her face wondering why she looked so happy.

I have never seen Mrs. Joyce this happy before, could this be because of Rosy’s appearance?

“Thank you,” I muttered, taking the teacup from her. I walked to the drawer and dropped the cup, but when I turned around, I found her still lingering at the door.

“Is anything wrong?” I questioned.

“Should I wake Miss Rosy up?” she asked, her eyes brightening up with each second that ticked by.
