CHAPTER 58: THE PRISONER

My jaw dropped upon seeing its face, I could no longer recognize him. The darkness is shown in his eyes, and his skin has crawled by the black veins.

He's wearing a cloak, and black smoke comes out of his hand.

His smile which used to be brighter than the sun became the grin of the devil.

"Eric?" I shakily uttered his name.

Fear consumed my system even more when his hand wrapped around my neck and pulled me close.

"No!" I tried to push him away, but his strength made it impossible for me to break free.

"The stench of sickness is in you, human." Instead of his comely voice, I can only hear the monster that manipulates his body.

"Eric, listen to me-- ah!" I yelped when he had us flying off of the cave and into the air. Away from Serena, away from the warmth.

Only the sense of sullenness and fear is on my side.

"Eric?" I tried to call for his name, but he didn't listen. "Please, don't do this. I know that you can hear me. Fight this. You have to fight it!"
