Annalise's POV.

"C'mon Mom, you don't have to act haughty now, the house felt empty without you or grandma, just accept my invitation, please Mom," I pleaded, trying hard not to sound like some desperate chick, but I was so freaking desperate at that moment.

Convincing Mom to do something had always been a Herculean task. Convincing Grandma J. would have been super easy. I knew once Mom accepted to do something, Grandma J. would definitely affirm it. That's just how my little family worked.

"I am not being haughty. Mom and I were very comfortable in our little cottage, away from the bustling and rustling of the city. Once we were discharged, we were going back," Mom said stubbornly, and I blinked back some feigned tears.

"Speak for yourself, sweetie," I heard Grandma J. say, and my eyes lit up in excitement because of what she just said.
