After I have mustered up energy, while having enough rest, I picked up my phone to respond to Zane’s messages.

Thus;

“Hello Zane, I am very sorry for going awol suddenly, I have been busy all day long. I had another appointment after the meeting with Janet Johnson and unexpectedly, business called crashed in during the weekend and it’s been very tiring” I read it aloud while I typed it.

Lies creates more lies they say and that’s true.

I sighed deeply and waited for him to read the messages soon but when he didn't, I called him.

“Hi Zane” I spoke solemnly (filled with guilt) into the phone as soon as he picked up the call.

“Rita!” He mentioned my name with an opposite tone.

I puffed out heavily and I'm sure he heard it.

“I know no matter what I say would not justify the reason for doing it, you can call it a flimsy excuse” I paused; “But I already sent you a message”

“I forgive you” He suddenly uttered even when he was yet to listen to my excuses, the lies upon lies.
