It was dinner time, and the air buzzed with a mix of anticipation and curiosity. I could feel everyone's eyes on me, their unasked questions hanging in the air as I tried to focus on my food. Each bite was a deliberate attempt to delay the inevitable barrage of inquiries I knew was coming. I hoped to eat quickly and escape to the sanctuary of my room, but deep down, I knew that wouldn't happen.

"Alyssa, how did he look? I mean the White wolf," Aunty Florence asked, her voice breaking the silence with the confidence that only she seemed to possess. I looked up from my bowl of soup, meeting the expectant gazes of everyone at the table. Grandma, sitting across from me, gave a slight nod, encouraging me to answer. Nice play, Grandma.

"Just like us," I replied, but their skeptical expressions told me they weren't convinced. It was clear they thought I was hiding something or didn't believe what I was saying.
