The Morning free ride offer

Mia’s POV

My alarm wakes me up, it was morning already and time to head to work. I am always so lazy to wake up in the morning, especially during work days.

“Oh, I hate waking up in a weather like this,” I said as I struggled to get out of my comfortable bed. I headed over to the window and I noticed it was drizzling. I could tell it was so cold outside.

“I hate cold mornings.” I could not help but shout.

“Yeah, me too, but we have to go to work, remember, work comes first then sleep Mia.” Amelia said, she is my friend, and we live together in the same apartment. We share rent too because with our jobs, we earn little salary and the city life is so expensive.

“Yeah, you are right,” I said as I headed over to the kitchen. I had to prepare something to eat before heading out.

“Did you pass the grocery store yesterday? I remember we agreed to buy some things, but I don’t see them here.” Amelia asked me as she was looking inside the fridge.

“No, I forgot, sorry, I got off work late last night and I headed straight home.” I said. I did not remember a thing yesterday about buying stuff. She was good at things like this, but not me. I always forgot every time it was my turn to buy stuff for the house.

“Don’t need to explain, you will just give me the money I will buy on my way home because I know you will have the same excuse when you get back later in the evening.” She says as she goes to the shower.

“Don’t blame me, Amelia; I have so much in my mind right now. But I promise I will change just for you.” I said. I knew she was upset, and I had to calm her down a little.

“Just stop, I am used to your excuses anyway. You are getting late for work. Can you hurry up a little?” She says.

“Ok, madam time manager.” I say to her with laughter in my voice. She was always so cautious with time. I wish I was like her.

I was a fashion designer, and I was employed to a company dealing with fashion clothes. It was not a well paying job, and I hoped that one day I would open my own business. I saved, little money so that my dream would come true one day. I dreamt of becoming a big fashion designer and having companies all over the world selling my clothes. It would be so good. I must fulfill that one day.

I prepare myself and I am ready for work. With the weather today, I have to be careful, so I will not get my shoes dirty. It had rained last night, but now it was drizzling. It was a cold season and many people hated it, just like me.

It was a day like this that one would wish to have a car or something that will make transport easier. Walking is not good for me at all. I can’t imagine the day I will be driving my car. It will be so beautiful, and I won’t suffer anymore walking in weather like this.

I started to hurry as the drizzling started to get heavy. If I don’t hurry, I might end up getting to work with wet clothes, since I did not carry an umbrella to cover myself with. It will be so terrible for me, all my make-up will be ruined, and I can’t afford to go to work with an ugly face.

With my small steps, I don’t think I will manage. I literally started running, and at that moment a car just suddenly blocks my way. I try to take another way but the man in the car blocks that too.

“What is wrong with this lunatic.” I say with an angry voice.

The man in the car takes his head out of his car window.

“Need a ride?” he asked.
