Chapter 28 - The Heart Wants What It Wants

I cry, and cry, I cannot stop the water falling from my eyes as I walk around aimlessly. My nose is runny, my hair is soaked in tears, why does it hurt so much?
I’m confident I did the right thing, my determination is unshaken for it’s crucial to keep trouble away. To keep Hayden safe, to keep him alive.
Not giving them the slightest opportunity to harm him was my purpose, but why can’t I convince my heart too?
