Chapter 12

"Master!"

Trevor embraced my waist when I entered the room where he is staying. It looks like he's having a comfortable time with Fara since I haven't heard any bad reports coming from Fara's mouth.

"I missed you master," he whispered.

I just stood up and didn't respond. It was a busy day and I needed him to train, he needs to have physical knowledge about swords.

"We're going somewhere Trevor," I said.

He remained hugging my waist. "Where?" he asked.

I tried to pull his arms circling around my waist but he was reluctant to let go. I took a deep breath and sigh.

"It's a secret Trevor so let go of me and follow me," I answered.

He was sulking when he let go from hugging my waist. I just shrugged off my thoughts and left the room together with him.

We arrived at the backyard of the Emerald Palace seeing Fara and sir Ocea on their sparring uniform.

"I brought the child," I said before pulling Trevor's hand for him to move forward.

Trevor was clinging on my skirt while scoffing, I think he didn't like what he just saw.

"They're going to train you Trevor." I tapped his head before I led him closer to them.

Sir Ocea seems confused with the child I just brought. I asked him to have his spare time, I just thought that with Sir Ocea and Fara training the little Trevor would be a great result in the near future.

I need him to be the most trusted person until I no longer need him, that would be the time to end his life.

I tilt my head while crossing my arms when Trevor seems to not cooperating with Sir Ocea, they were actually learning about how to hold a sword using a wooden sword.

I yawned when Trevor keep looking in my direction before sulking. It was easier in the past since father was the one who taught him how to wield a sword.

It will be hard with this kind of training.

I walked closely towards them and coughed to get their attention. Trevor beamed while Sir Ocea seems to be having a disease because of how stress his look was.

I took the sword from Sir Ocea's hand before I swing it and pointed it on Trevor's chest.

"You said that you want to stay with me forever, right?" I asked.

He nodded. "I want to stay with you forever, master."

I remained calm with a serious expression written on my face.

"Then, attack me. Attack me Trevor so that when the time comes that I will have to kill you, you can still fight Trevor. Fight for your life and stay with me," I said.

I can only hear the sound of the wind lingering inside my ears, the sound of the leaves from the trees that was blown by the wind, and the chirp sound of the birds flying from the sky.

His expression changed, deeper than a normal expression, I can only see his black pupil and his tiny but penetrating red iris.

"I don't want to use a sword," he said making me shiver down to my spine.

I felt how the blurred pictures flashed on my eyes as if I am standing nowhere watching the two kids sparring endlessly.

"You're gay! You're too weak," the little girl said with annoyance visible on her tone.

"I don't want to use a sword." He threw the sword before sitting on the ground.

The little girl rolled her eyes before giving her left hand to the little boy scoffing on the ground.

"Let's use our fists then," she said but the little boy shook his head.

"I don't want to."

The little girl held her hand back and crossed her arms. "What's your problem? How am I going to train you?" she asked irritatedly.

I stepped back before pulling my hair roughly trying to take away the pictures I've been seeing.

"I don't want anything," he answered and rest his head on his knees.

"What? I thought you wanted to get stronger?" the little girl asked with confusion in her face.

"Yes, but not with these." He lifted the sword before throwing it back on the ground.

"Why?"

"Because I don't want to hurt you," he answered.

I felt how tears poured out from my eyes, stop it... Stop it!

I heard loud calls and blurred pictures of the people around me, I felt my body being carried by someone before I closed my eyes.

Please don't let me see it again, I don't want to regret anything.

Because I might wake up one day, doubting myself and realizing that everything that happened in the past was all my fault.

I can feel the heavy cold cloth on my forehead when I opened my eyes. Was it already night?

My mind was a little blurry, did I passed out?

"Fara," I called.

"Yes, I'm here your Highness."

I turned my head on my left side and I saw Fara sitting on the chair while holding my left hand.

I can see the worry and sadness from her expression. Why is she like this? Did something even happened?

"Why are you giving me that look Fara?" I asked softly.

My eyes widened when she suddenly burst a cry while holding my hand. did something bad... happened?

"Why?"

I felt the heaviness of my eyes as if pulling me to the nearest darkness until I lost my consciousness.

Since I was born, I was already bestowed the title of the Crown Princess. I was destined to be the Empress, to stand beside the Emperor that's why I was competent of having his attention.

I first met him when I was eight, it was my birthday, a season of winter.

That day, we took a painting together as a memory of our first meeting.

He was handsome but I can't read him. He was always wearing an emotionless face and I rarely see him smile, I feel like I'm not important to him.

I kept thinking that he's only like that because he doesn't know how to show his emotions, that's why I tried so hard to have his attention.

Until Father arrived from his trip, he brought a little boy. He was a cry baby, he keeps clinging on my father's arm and irritates me that's why I called him and told him to stay with me from now own.

He was obedient, a good listener but there's something I don't really understand about him.

The way he looked at me was a bit different, I thought it was nothing but I was wrong, he told me about his feelings.

He love me, that's what he said.

I was afraid of him because of that, it was pathetic to hear from him since I am her sister, I am destined to be married with the Crown Prince.

That's why I left him, I left to cut the thread trying to pull us closer.

"Your Highness?"

I slowly opened my eyes and I saw Fara who was looking at me.

"You're too close Fara," I whispered.

She averted her face before she sat back on the chair. The image of her, crying while holding my hand appeared on my eyes.

"Did you cry?" I asked.

She stopped before she shook her head. "No, your Highness."

Was it a dream?

"Why are you here?" I asked.

She was cutting and peeling off the apple. It's rare to see her here, she was always staying outside the door and wait for my call.

"I am here to guard you your Highness," she answered making my eyebrows furrowed.

"Why? Did I get attacked while I'm peacefully sleeping?"

The plate broke when it suddenly fell from her hands. She looked at me with her eyes widened, what is her problem?

"Fara—"

"Your Highness I have something to ask," she said cutting my words off.

My lips parted before I nod. "What is it?"

"Your Highness, why did you scream that time? You keep saying no and stop. Why?" she asked.

That time?

"That time? What do you mean? It was only yesterday."

I flinched when her hands gripped my shoulders and looked at me with her darkened expression.

"You're wrong your Highness."

"What? Stop giving me a cliffhanger and just tell me Fara," I said with annoyance.

We stared with each other before the loud storm struck inside my head when I heard what she said.

"You've been asleep for three months your Highness, the Crown Prince already declare that you might not wake up again."
