It wasn’t long before someone knocked on the door so I got up and walked over to the door and opened it.

“Ava. We need to talk.” Noah said.

“No. Like I said, you need to go to hell.” I said.

“You found out that Jax is my friend.”

“Yeah. You planted him in my school to keep an eye on me.” I said.

“It’s not what you think.” He said.

“I don’t know what the hell to think anymore. Or who to trust.” I said. So Noah pushed the door open and he walked into my room and closed the door behind me. He turned to look at me with such intensity in his eyes.

“You can trust me. I put Jax there so that he could protect you when I wasn’t there.” Noah said.

“And again, why should I believe you?” I asked.

“Because of this.” He said, grabbing my hand. I quickly pulled my hand back after getting the electric shock that coursed up my arm.
