Chapter # 05

She looked around once again but saw no sight of him. Where one part of her was relieved that maybe he had left, a bigger part was racing with fear of him leaving again. Why, why could she not just get over him? Forget maybe but even she knew it was impossible.

"What's wrong Sara?" June asked.

"It's nothing, I just had a bad night." Lies.

"It was because of him, wasn't it?"

"Jun----"

"No. This is absurd, Sara. He left, without a letter or note or call. He has no right." June snapped.

"I know."

She was lying but what choice did she had? She didn't want to argue, didn't wanted to talk about it and the mostly, she didn't understand June's attitude. June never presses anything so why so suddenly she was pressing for her to leave him alone, making sure that he was away from her or was she imagining everything? She probably was but she was tired. A week had passed since she last saw him. She knew he was still in town; knew he was around. She had felt his eyes everywhere, she felt them now but she also knew that if she looked around, she won't see him. He was good at hiding but she searched anyway.

She sipped her chocolate milk and again did a quick swipe of her surroundings but it went down in vain. There was nothing to see. He wanted to remain hidden.

People have yet to stop talking. Usually, people were afraid to talk to her but now, they were terrified. Some girls have start showing their true colors and asked her if she was together with Dean, she had replied she wasn't which resulted in another million questions like where he was from last two years? How he was and why did he kiss her? Questions which she wanted to ask herself.

But did she have a right?

She never really talked to guys before but now, they seem to run a mile when they saw her. It was obvious to everyone except her.

"You think you can walk home today? I need to leave early." June asked while clearing up her papers.

"Yeah, I'll be fine." Sara replied absentmindedly.

"Okay, I am going to hand my paper to Mister Foe now, I'll see you tomorrow." June said and after giving Sara a small hug, went inside the school doors leaving her alone outside.

The rain which was falling slightly, speed up till the last bell. Sara wasn't happy but like she had a choice but to walk but yet, of all the days it had to be today. She picked up her bag from her locker and stepped outside in the rain while frowning. Again, she felt his eyes on her but this time she ignores the urge to look around. It was cold and Sara didn't have her jacket with her because it was warm enough in the morning so she just pulled her upper closer and crossed her arms tightly over her chest as she walked her way from school.

She had just walked out of the main road when he appeared in his car. She didn't know it was him till he stopped the car in front of her, blocking her way.

The curse was stuck in her throat when he grabbed her from her wrist and dragged her to the passenger side only to open the door and push her inside. After slamming her door shut, he walked to the driver side and got in. Sara was still frozen in her seat trying to believe what happened.

After the passing of five minutes, she found her voice.

"What the hell do you think you are doing?" she demanded, her heart racing.

"Driving you home." Was his reply

"I can walk!" Her voice came out angry.

"You'll get sick." His voice in return was casual.

"I am not made of glass!"

"Still."

"I can't believe you!"

Silence.

She glared at him while he looked up front, ignoring her glare. She was so angry, why? It probably didn't even have anything to do with the fact that he almost abducted her, hell she was sure it had nothing to do with it but it was more because of the week he had stayed away.

"I was hoping you have left." she said after turning her glare up front as well but this time she felt his eyes on her but as before he refuses to look at her, this time it was her turn.

"Were you, really?" his voice was silent but yet she knew, he wanted to know.

"I don't know." she suddenly felt very tired.

When he didn't say anything for a while, she looked back at him to see him already staring at her. His eyes were blank, dark but she saw the anger but no guilt, never guilt.

She looked away from his eyes only to find that they were not going home. She tried to look past the rain but saw nothing much.

"Where are you taking us?" she demanded while trying her best to look outside.

"Are you scared of me?" he asked, his tune might he blank, careless but she saw his eyes, they were burning, she saw that he wanted to know the answer, that what she was going to say mattered to him, meant something to him.

Scared of him? Was he out of his bloody mind? This guy has taught her how to walk for the love of God! She wasn't scared of him, she was scared for herself, for what he could do to her, her mind and the worst, her heart.

"Of course not!"

"Do you trust me?"

"No."

She really didn't. He had left once; she can't trust him with anything now and if he expected the answer to be yes then he was really living in a wonderland because she wasn't that easy with forgiveness or her trust. He broke it once, he had yet to give the prove that he won't break it again.

She saw the flash of hurt in his eyes dancing around, like it was mocking her. Making her see how much she had pained him and she knew she had but Sara O'Brian doesn't lie, not to him and he knew that.

"I guess I deserved that."

"Did you, really?"

He didn't answer and she was frustrated.

"Am I ever going to get answers from you?" she asked and this time she felt her eyes getting watery. She didn't want to cry, didn't wanted to let him see that it hurts her so she turned the other way.

"Look at me." his voice was soft but she wasn't going to fall in that trap.

"Look at me, O'Brian!" this time his voice was hard, cold and demanding.

Bipolar asshole.

She still didn't look at him, she couldn't.

To say she was shocked by his next move would be stupid because after years of knowing him, she was supposed to be used to it but she was shocked because Dean never treated her like this, ever. Never was he this intimate.

He had hit the brakes and with a quick move, pulled her towards him, so close that their noses were touching, breaths mixing. Her heart stopped.

He was glaring down at her, the anger in his eyes were as clear as the rain outside. His body stiff, his hands keeping a hard hold on her. Her eyes had gone wide but the tears never fell but she knew he saw her wet eyes.

"I don't want you crying." he growled.

She wanted to deny, refuse that she wasn't crying but she was very tired, she felt drained and it was that second when she realized she have not eaten properly from a week.

"I am not." she mumbled while blinking away the tears.

She saw him staring her right in the eyes, not removing his hands from her. His dark eyes were looking at her with a depth she never understood but then again, she was always a little slow. She needed words, she believed that words were a great weapon, depending on how they are used but ironic the fact that she was best friend with a guy who never bothered with much words.

He stared at her till her eyes were back too normal and then he also lost the fire in his eyes as he stared at her, his gaze softening and he did another thing which though shouldn't have surprised her but did, he kissed her head and slowly let go of her.

Without another word, he started the car again. She was looking at him in curiosity maybe, she didn't understand. She had questions but she just couldn't help but stop herself because she didn't think she had the right to ask them.

She finally looked away and tried once again to see from the heavy rain where they were going but it was impossible.

The car stopped but before she could get out, his hand on her arm stopped her.

"Wait."

With that he went out himself and disappeared in the rain. Sara heard the bumper being opened and the next thing she knew her door was being opened. Dean was standing there, with a large hood in hand. Without asking her anything, he pulled the hood over her body, making a sound of surprise escape her mouth.

Next thing she know, she's being dragged through the rain with his hood over her face, shielding her from rain. She finally recognizes where was. She hasn't been here for two years now.

Cliff side caves, why were they here?

He was almost picking her up while dragging her to the caves. She followed silently, why? Because she knew that he can never hurt her. He will usually punch any girl in the throat but her? Never.

When they reached the inside of caves, he finally let go, at least put a distance between them. Brushing his wet hair from his face he was staring right at her.

Sara ignored his eyes and pulled the hood away from her face, drying her hair with her fingers. To her surprise, a second hand join hers and start drying her hair. It was gentle and soft compare to the man they belonged to. Sara silently let him to it without looking at him.

"Why are you not looking at me?" he demanded angrily while turning her face towards himself.

The hand which held her face was setting fire on her skin, making her face warm even if the rest of her body was ice cold.

"Why are we here?" she asked instead.

His eyes danced in fire which was always there when he looked at her.

"So, we can talk."

"About...?"

"Everything."

"Everything...?"

"Everything."

She closed her eyes and the question she wanted to ask was on the edge of her tongue. Why did he kiss her?

But she didn't ask it. She didn't have the courage, she wasn't strong enough to get hurt by his words in reply.

She opened her eyes again and met again with his soul capturing eyes which seem to be encouraging her, calming her and at the same time, shaking her inside and making her heart race.

"Why are you back?" she finally asked.

"Isn't it obvious?"

"To see me? But that's ridiculous, two years and you finally found the time to see----" her words were stuck because his hand came down on her mouth.

"I didn't come here to see you. I came here to take you with me."

Her eyes went wide in surprise and shock. What did he just say?

He slowly removed his hand but kept it on her cheek as he stared at her with a patient look.

She could help but laugh, she wasn't laughing because she found it funny, she was laughing because this was plain ridiculous!

Suddenly a hand covered her mouth making her laugh stuck in her throat as she stared at him in surprise.

"As much as I adore the sound of your laugh, I do not like the reason you are laughing at."

She glared at his hand over her mouth and then turned her glare to his angry face.

She tried to snap at him but it went in vain as it came out muffled. Now that she was done being amused, she was angry, no she was furious. How dare he? How could he?

Yet a part of her was dancing inside, jumping in happiness but other was clawing out to beat him senseless. Hurt him in some way so she would stop feeling like some trash he got bored of and left to be used again. Just hurt him in some way so he would know what she went through. How badly he had hurt her.

The second he removed his hand, she snapped. She starts punching him, hitting with all the force she had, she could measure and he just stood there, taking her every blow without a word, just staring at her. Finally, when she couldn't bring any more strength, she let her arms fall on her side. She was drained and yet the pain didn't lessen. She felt a single tear escape her eye and before she could wipe it away, she was held from strong hands which seem to be caging her so near that she could feel the drumming of his heart.

She moved her head to meet his eyes and for the first time since she had known him, she saw agony in his eyes. She wasn't always the best reader of eyes but she could recognize this emotion anywhere. She had seen it in eyes of the image which stared at her in mirror. It had stared at her when she used to be alone. She had carried it with her everywhere she went before he came back.

"I don't want you crying." He repeated the words from the car but the difference was huge, where he had said them before with a harshness, now he was begging them.

"What do you want me to do then?" She asked. She would give him anything if only he would stay.

He closed his eyes and took a deep breath and then she was pushed away harshly from him with such force that she almost fell down. She blinked in surprise and stared at him. He had his back facing her and she could see him shaking just like he was one week ago in her room and then he was pacing around while glaring at her, trying to calm his breath. His eyes were accusing like this, his state was all her fault.

But before she could ask, he shouted, "I can't even breath the same air as you without thinking about kissing you."

What?

Did he just said what she thought?

"I'm sorry." This was all she could think to say.

"You're sorry." He snorted while still pacing and then continued, "I can't think straight anymore now. I've been trying to strengthen my control for a week and just being this near made me snap again."

He lost her there.

What was he talking about?

He suddenly stopped pacing. He was staring at her now, no more glaring just staring but she knew he was thinking about something hard. He kept shaking his head and sometimes nodding it, conflicting with himself.

"Fuck it!"

Next thing she knew she was pulled against his chest, his one hand grabbing her waist so tightly almost as if his life depended on it and other going in her hair to pull her head closer to meet her lips with his.
