CHAPTER 14

ELISHA : I know you all are still sad over the fact that Eliza is not here with us but right now we have something really important to talk about 

ARIA : What’s that ??...( she asks with others showing little interest) 

ELISHA : Who got the highest number of kills of course, I think I won 

There was silence for a while as the other apostles don’t respond immediately but keep to the moody atmosphere for a few seconds before the ice is broken 

CALEB : Don’t kid yourself bro, I’m clearly the one who won 

DAVID : Whoa, hold it right there… did you guys see me in action, I was taking down those demons like it was nothing 

ZINO : If I remember properly you were struggling until I arrived to give you moral support ( Zino says with a few muffled chuckles coming from the group)… anyways I’m clearly the winner since I had five minions doing the killing for me 

SERAYAH : I don’t think it counts as your score if you didn’t do the killing yourself 

JAY : No-one said anything about not using minions 

ARIA : minions or not, I’m clearly the winner 

JONATHAN : how can we trust any score you guys give since you all were fighting at your own places 

NATALIE : True, but I have a feeling I’m the one that got the highest score 

LEAH : Yeah keep telling yourself that till you believe it 

ZARA : What about you, Sara… how many did you kill?? 

SARA : Well I was only going for their leaders, so I won’t say I took down a lot but I guess I did my best ( in a meek voice) 

SIRIUS : It’s quite unfortunate that any of you think that you had the highest score as I destroyed not only Agares but all demons and undead he had merged with ( with a proud smirk appearing on his face as he tried to push his sadness to the back of his mind and join in the conversation) 

The apostles continued in their back and forth banter on who had the most kills with their voice ringing out into the desolate land and laughter being heard amongst them with the fact that Eliza was not with them being pushed to the back of their mind not because they did not care about her but because they knew she would want them to be happy. 

LOCATION : HEAVEN’S GATE 

TIME : IRRELEVANT 

DATE : IRRELEVANT 

[ PS : The scene that is about to be written doesn’t add to the progress of the story directly but is meant to show the extent of the war across all realms of existence, so please do bare with me I know the incessant fight scenes without much story is getting a bit much 😅]

The void that existed between the land of the living and Heaven was being lit up by a battle between angels and demons, this ancient battle between two sworn enemies was being waged again due to the ambitions of the demon princes to not just conquer humanity but also Heaven as well. Black holes, White holes and explosions the size of large planets rocked the void as the clash between these two foes raged on with no end in sight, sometimes a bright light would just go dead in an instant signaling the fall of an angel while other times a dark shadow would burst into ashes signaling the fall of a demon, their voices could be heard for miles on end as they let out battle cries while engaged in mortal combat, unlike with humans where only their demonic physical bodies were destroyed the case was quite different with regards to this epic encounter, angels and demons came from the same source as demons were once angels that rebelled against the Father and were punished by being sent to hell, the atmosphere of hell twisted and turned these once glorious creatures into the monsters they are currently, the weapons used by angels and demons with the angels creating their weapons out of their will and demons transmuting their weapons from already existing matter [ PS : demons are incapable of creating anything out of nothing as that ability is of divine origin and so off limits to them so they are stuck with transmuting matter from one thing to the other to get by ] were capable of not just physical destruction but also spiritual destruction which was basically existence erasure to each of the warring parties as both angels and demons are spiritual beings thus their weapons not only killed but completely destroyed one another [ PS : this means that humans killed with the use of these kinds of weapons were completely destroyed both spirit and body ]. 

The battle raged on for so long and since time was irrelevant in their choice of a battlefield, no-one knew how long the battle had raged on for, demons kept on pressing as they attempted to reach Heaven’s gate which stood a couple of light-years away from where they were as a huge white gate the size of a large star emitting radiation capable of lighting up an entire galaxy with its radiance.

ARCHANGEL #1 : We cannot let them leave here and reach the gates 

ARCHANGEL #2 : Hold your ground, my fellow comrades… we must give everything we’ve got 

ARCHDEMON #1 : Resistance is futile, just let us pass 

ARCHDEMON #2 : How many must fall before you realize that you cannot hold us here for long 

The warring angels take no heed to the words of their demonic counterparts and keep on beating back the invaders that had dared to come to their doorstep, as the battle kept going back and forth soon enough a large portal with black hue appears from behind the demon ranks giving off an aura that was nothing short of menacing 

WAR ANGEL #1 : What is that??.... 

ARCHANGEL #3 : Ready yourselves…..

Before the archangel can finish talking a large spike made of dark matter shoots out from the portal and impales her in the chest before she can react, other angels around her are struck in awe by the speed at which the spike moved with the other angels looking to see who had thrown it, the archangel that had been impaled struggles to stay conscious as she held the spike in place 

ARCHANGEL #3 : Who threw this?? 

UNKNOWN MALE VOICE : oh wow, I can’t believe you’d survive that anyways it doesn’t matter, you are still gonna die 

Not so long after the voice had finished speaking black lines begin to spread across the archangel after which black liquid pours out of her eyes, nose, ears and mouth after which the angel let’s go of the spike and falls down into the void with the other angels turning their attention completely to the portal after which a figure emerges from the portal drawing gasps from the angelic forces.
