The car ride to the school was silent. No one said anything. Christopher was driving with James on the passenger seat, and Cal, Lucas, and Alicia in the back. Lucas's whole body felt frozen to the single spot. The mare voice of Zoye as soon as she entered the hall was enough to grip his toe and tie them to the ground.
