Collision course

The beat-up old ford clattered its way along the dirt road ringing its guts out as the driver swerved to miss potholes while maintaining a reasonable speed. Aimee lay down in the back seat, thrashing like a possessed banshee one second and the next lying so still Eric had to check to make sure she was still breathing. As one hour bled into the next, the smiling assassin wondered if they would make it to Moon howler in time to save Aimee.
