They ended the call with beaming smiles all around – they even got a shy smile out of Adom, who waved at his aunt as they said goodbye.

Afterwards, Alex tossed his phone onto the bed and swept Adom up over his shoulder, raining sand all over the floor. Someone would have to clean that up later. Alex had a feeling it would be him. For now he said, “Alright my little monster, let’s get you into the tub.”

Adom giggled and flailed his little limbs, wailing dramatically, "Papa, no bath! Dad, help!”

“Awww, earlier you asked me to help you and now you don’t want a bath? Make up your mind, my little monster,” Alex scolded playfully, clamping his arm around Adom legs so he could swing him a little side-to-side without worrying about dropping him. More sand scattered from the movement. If they kept this up, Adom wouldn’t need a bath anymore.
