His brother

What was bugging me was why my dad would be owing Theodore money. "L-look, please just give me some time to find the money," he said fearfully. I'm sure he had sobered up a bit.

"No!" Theodore yelled angrily. "I had given you 6 months to get my money back but you rather spent it on alcohol," he continued. My dad had been owing him for that long?

But how? Why? He gestured one of his men for something. The man gave Theodore a gun making my eyes widen in shock and fear of losing the only family I had. "Say goodbye Jones," he said pointing the gun at my dad.

I rushed out of my hiding spot ignoring the pain spreading through my body in hopes of saving him but I was too late. Theodore had already pulled the trigger, shooting my dad square in his chest. I halted in my steps clinging to the nearby table for support as tears strolled down my face.

I know that he was not the best father but at least I considered him family. He was the only family I knew. I had hopes of reuniting our father-daughter relationship but all that just disappeared into thin air.

Yes, I know that he was abusive but he's still my father and I knew that somewhere deep down inside he loved me.

Others have lost both parents and were at foster homes due to that but I was lucky to at least have a father but that too has been taken away from me.

"Is he your dad?" Theodore asked staring at me. "Yes," I said breaking into a full blown sob. He looked shocked and then his expression changed into one of guilt and regret. "I'm sorry, I didn't know," he said sorrowfully. I let out a bitter laugh in between my tears.

"Now you do but that isn't enough to change anything now is it? You've killed the only person who was the closest thing to family for me and now I have absolutely nothing to live for.

He was the only reason I was living for-" "-but he abused you. I heard a lot of screaming but I just didn't know that it was you," he said cutting me off.

"I know that he abused me but at least even then I was able to say I had a father and I was grateful for that even though he hated me. Now that you've killed him, you might as well kill me too and get this over with," I said taking a huge breath and taking his hand which was holding the gun and pointed it at myself.

"Shoot me Theo," I said closing my eyes. Seconds turned to minutes and he still didn't shoot me. I opened my eyes staring at him confused. "Why aren't you shooting me?" I asked.

He killed my dad in front of me and I'm sure he doesn't leave any witnesses. Plus if I die I'll finally be able to see my mom again.

"I-I can't," he sighed dropping his arm and running his fingers through his hair. "Then why did you kill him," I asked but he ignored me.

"Take her with you," he said to his men and they both held me by my arms and pulled me to their car with me struggling to get away from them.

"Where are you taking me? Let go of me! If you don't let go and I manage to escape I'll call the-" I was cut of by one of the men putting a cloth over my mouth and I felt dark spots cover my vision.

Regaining my consciousness was really something. The first thing I felt when I woke up was pain and it didn't help that the pain wasn't just at one place. It felt like my whole entire body was on fire.

"Ouch," I said as I felt a sharp pain in my head. I noticed that all my wounds have been treated. It wasn't long before I remembered everything that had happened.

'So I was really kidnapped and that too by the most popular, powerful mafia boss in town,' I thought. I tried my best to stand up to explore my surroundings. I needed to find a way out of here.

Seconds after I woke up, I heard the sound of footsteps and voices approaching the door and froze when the door flung open.

"What are you doing out of bed?" Theodore asked. He was with a guy who looked my age. I slowly turned to him and mumbled out, "nothing," and puffing up my cheeks in anger.

Why am I here and what does he want from me anyway? "Aww she's so cute and short too," the guy beside him said walking close to me and gently pulled my cheeks. I angrily slapped his hand away from my face. I am not a child to be played with like that.

"Bro can we keep her?" He asked turning to Theodore with bright puppy dog eyes. 'Who thought the devil would have a brother,' I thought, 'and a childish one at that.' I am not an object for him to be speaking about me like that.

I glared at the boy angrily and Theodore just stood there trying his best not to burst out laughing.

"Oh so you think this is funny?" I said to Theodore. His eyes widened and he put his hands up in a surrender motion with a smile on his face. Oh how I wished to smack that smile off his face.

"We were gonna keep her anyway so why not? Plus you get a new friend," Theodore said to his brother. His brother screamed oh so joyfully and hugged me... very very tight. "Fuck you bitch! Get off me! You are fucking hurting me!" I yelled trashing around in his arms angrily.

Theodore's eyes widened at my reaction and pulled his brother away from me. "Dude she's hurt," he said glancing at me and I glared hard at him. "Oh," Theodore's brother said suddenly shy and guilty.

"I'm sorry. I've just never had a friend who is a female that's why I got over excited," Theodore's brother said with a regretful look on his face.
