I stood completely still, staring at Elijah in complete and utter disbelief. I didn't know what I was supposed to say to him, and I believed that my father found himself in the same position as well. I heard a door close somewhere in the distance, and without doubt, and knew that it was Samantha. I didn’t know how to explain it, but it was like every atom, every fibre of my being, was so in tuned with her that I knew where she was and what she was doing without even having to think about it. I stood in the Alpha's living room, Julie standing beside me, while Arthur was already standing on the porch. I didn't need to speak to him to know that he wasn't happy with what was going on, but he knew, just as well as I did, that there was nothing that we could do. It felt like it took an eternity for Luke and his family to leave my house - his family, for exception of Samantha. I didn't know what it was that had kept him waiting as long as he had, but I had a suspicion that he was waiting for Samantha to get out of the bathroom. And it seemed like it wasn't something that was going to happen any time soon. It had taken a while for him to get the message, but when he finally realised that he wasn't going to be able to speak to his daughter, he left. And I couldn't have been more thankful. The next few minutes passed by in a blur, happening so fast that I didn't really know what hit me until it had already hit me.
