Devotion

They reached home in twenty minutes. The rain had let up for a moment. Nikaulas scooped her up and carried her to her room. The rain resumed pattering once they were inside.

Angela could sense tension billowing from him. She couldn't understand why he troubled himslf so much. She had texted him that they would be back as soon as the rain let up. She sighed inwardly, he was a puzzle she could only hope to solve.

Also, she didn't like the way he treated Theo. It wasn't like his car would have drowned if he had given him the lift. She made a mental note to ask her guards to pick Theo. The night was too chilly to be spent in a cold abandoned building.

Nikaulas didn't bother to look her in the eyes. He was still mad. He set her in her bed and turned to leave when her hand shot out and curled around his wrist. The welcoming warmth of her palm radited into his cold skin.
