Thirty Nine | Misunderstandings Like This

Akansha looked at us in shock. Her eyes started to water slowly, I knew she had misunderstood the situation. She immediately turned and ran out. I moved Jennifer away and ran behind her like mad.

"Akansha!", I shouted as she ran out. I followed her out of the hotel to find her nowhere. My throat went dry. I was sure she had misunderstood the whole situation and that was not a good thing.

I started looking around, maybe she was somewhere, after all - she could not vanish in thin air.

I started running from one end of the footpath to another screaming her name. After a while I stood hopeless along the road as cars zoomed past.

I felt a hand hold mine. I immediately turned to find Jennifer looking at me empathetically.

"Trust me, she'll understand.", She said softly as she handed me some money.

"Get to her. ", She said. For a moment, all my anger for her seemed to melt away as I took the money and immediately caught a cab.
