Neil's Point Of View

I stood opposite the statue of Jesus.

Wasn't this the place where it all began?

I remembered standing opposite to a similar statue in London, cursing my luck. A sudden painful smile came across my face.

How ironic was all of this, wasn't it?

I sighed and looked down as Akansha walked into the church. Everybody started applauding, but I did not turn back this time. I was too pained to do anything. She soon came and stood beside me, as I immediately brushed off my unconscious tears.

No! You're not breaking down, Neil.. Not now, not ever!

My mind screamed at me as I agreed to it.

Father started the rituals, again.

Both of us had replied with an "I Do", although we had definitely meant not one of them, at least me. During the whole thing my eyes had been fixed on that statue of God.

My mind seemed to ask him.. Why? Why me?

But of course, no reply ever came.

"You may now kiss the bride.", The Father said.
