Chapter Forty Eight - Drifting apart

I kept on looking at Emelia even as I dove home. She wasn’t talking to me but her attention was focused outside. Is it because of Eleanor? Is it because I didn’t tell her that her sister would be there? Why was she always so insecure around her sister even when she was with other people?

We got home and I pulled over, I didn't come immediately and she unbuckled her seat belt opening the door.

“Is everything okay?”

I asked her as she turned to me nodding her head but I didn’t believe what she was saying to me right now.

“Emelia, You haven’t said a word stop me since we left the party,” I said to her before she could step out of the car, she took a deep breath turning to me as I looked at her.

“Are you asking me that? Are you sure you want me to answer you?” She asked me as I sighed heavily wanting to hold her hand and she removed her hand from me.

“No. I am tired, Liam. I should go and rest” She said getting out of the car and beginning to walk away without looking back. I
