Chapter 25 | My Helper On Glasses

He was scared, and I couldn't blame him, but I needed to escape.

Instead of concentrating on accelerating, he kept raising his hands in surrender, which frustrated me.

"Please, spare me!" he cried.

That's when I glanced out his window and saw my worst fear approaching: an angry man with a gun similar to the one I held.

A car stood between us, with a mother and her baby in the front seat. The mother shielded her child from the chaos outside by holding them close.

"I said, drive!" I shouted at the terrified man, pressing the gun against his head more firmly.

"Okay, okay, okay! Please don't shoot!" he pleaded.

As I glanced back at Alexandros, he aimed his gun at the innocent man I had coerced into driving. My heart raced in my chest.

He was about to pull the trigger when the sudden cry of the baby inside the car distracted him, giving us the chance to speed away.
