Chapter 18 - Failing and Falling

Charlene pulled her hand from Adhler's grip the moment they reached the small forest by the end of the academy.

Very few students linger around the area because it emits an ominous atmosphere. Adhler did not even realize they had reached the area until Charlene forced her way out of his grip.

"What do you think you're doing?!" Charlene exclaimed. She's panting under her nose. They walked really far from the cafeteria at a fast rate.

Adhler slumped to the grass and looked down. He controlled his breathing before gazing at Charlene.

"Why did you not get mad?"

"Why did you get vexed?" Charlene asked back. She had been thinking what Adhler must have been thinking while they rushed their way out of the cafeteria.

But nothing came to mind. Charlene could not understand why Adhler would go to such lengths to defend her. He could be tarnishing his good reputation in the academy.

Not that anyone could just defy a royal, but Charlene knew it would not be good for Adhler to be associated
