Adler’s POV

After learning about my brother’s injuries, I had no choice but to go back to the castle and oversee the situation. My father specifically asked for my presence, and the elders are probably gnawing their fangs to see our family go downhill.

This has happened before when my mother died. I could still remember them pressuring my father to step down for a while because he was grieving my mother’s passing. They were trying to put Dia on the throne, though he’s obviously too young to handle the weight of the crown.

The elders wanted him to be their marionette, to pull strings for his limbs to move by their words.

“Prince,” the head butler greeted me when I got off the carriage. A few servants are taking the few belongings I brought from the academy. I certainly would not stay for long, so I only brought my sword and the papers that I still needed to read for my graduation.
