Chapter 28 - A Prince Above All Else

Adhler stared at the woman sleeping on his lap. He did not know how it happened. He was resting his head on her shoulders, and the next thing he knew was that Charlene was sleeping on his lap.

He let out a chortle before fixing her position. Adhler thought it must have hurt on the neck. Charlene looks uncomfortable, but surprisingly enough— she sleeps so well!

Adhler was brushing her hair between his fingers when someone entered the room. He glanced at the door and saw a woman in her thirties looking at them with serious eyes. She does not look displeased but not particularly delighted either.

She cleared her throat before sitting on the couch, “She looks tired,” the professor commented, looking at Charlene now. Adhler stared at her before averting his gaze to Charlene.

“She is,” he replied. “What took you so long to approve our research?” Adhler asked directly. His patience is not long enough to tolerate such a late approval when the matter is fighting with time. Adhler knows that
