4| Club

SHREYA'S POV :

I was standing in the corner with Rahul by my side, staring at the traitor Neha, who was happily dancing with her boyfriend, leaving me alone with Rahul, as she had done every damn time.

I felt awkward the moment I walked into the club. Perhaps because more than half of the people were inebriated and dancing erratically. I'm not used to this kind of atmosphere, and it makes me feel very uneasy.

"Shreya," Rahul called out, jolting me out of my trance.

When I didn't respond, he tapped my shoulder and said, "Shreya."

"Where are you lost, Shreya. Were you even paying attention to me? I've been talking to you for a long time, and you've been standing quietly. Is everything okay? Are you all right?" Rahul inquired.

Oh, Shreya, he's trying to keep you company and make you feel at ease, and you're lost in your thoughts.

"Oh, Rahul, I just want water, you know." I clenched my teeth and pursed my lips.

"All right, hold on a second."

I simply smiled. I needed to be alone for a while. He is my friend, but I am not particularly close to him.

I suddenly felt as if someone was watching me. You know, that sixth sense that only girls have. My gaze scanned the area and was met by a pair of brown domineering eyes penetrating my soul and standing at the far end corner. At that moment, it felt as if the world had come to a halt.

My vision became blurry as a result of the light, and I couldn't see his face clearly. Rahul cut me off before I could make any move to close the gap and read his features.

"Umm, take this," he said, offering me a glass of water.

"Thank you, Rahul." I gave him a friendly smile.

"It's fine," he replied with a smile.

There was a one-minute pause.

"So, what have you decided?" he said, breaking the silence.

"What do you mean?" I asked him while pretending to be innocent.

"Are you coming here to stand still or are you going to dance and have a good time?" He asked, tucking his hands into his pockets.

"But I was forced to come here," I explained as I set the glass down.

"Oh, Shreya, just come out of your shell. Have some fun and live your life. You know what, you will not be able to relive this period of your life. Come on, dance with me "He extended his hand to me.

"But I don't know how to dance," I said, looking at his hand.

And the truth is that I am a good dancer, but I am too shy to dance in public. I only dance at family gatherings where your relatives force you to dance because they believe that girls should be able to dance.

Rahul drew me back into the world by taking my hand in his and saying, "Don't worry, I'm here." He said it in a cinematic tone.

"Oh so filmy, haha"

He laughed with me and dragged me onto the dance floor before I could come up with another excuse.

He put his hand on my waist and took my hand in his. But, thank God, he kept a healthy distance between us, which is why I call him a gentleman; he knows his boundaries.

After a while, we began to swing to the music. One of my favorite songs was playing at the time. We continued dancing while Rahul kept staring at me, while my eyes were drawn to the floor.

Rahul interrupted my thoughts once more.

"You're looking so lovely," he said as he looked into my eyes, and I just smiled. His eyes were gleaming, as if he were staring at the most beautiful woman.

Rahul was staring at me all the time, and I was doing my best not to look in his direction. Now he was making me feel awkward, and I still have the feeling that someone is watching me.

It was as if someone was watching my every move. I'm not sure why I'm feeling this way.

My eyes started looking for that man again, but when they didn't find him, I just lowered my head and stared at the floor, which seemed to be a better thing to look at than anything else.

ATHARVA'S POV

So like I promised him, I have to come to this shitty place. And now I'm standing here by myself because that kid has gone with his childhood friend, whom he met by chance years later. Huh. I despise him.

I was sipping my drink and casually looking around when my eyes were drawn to something beautiful. No, it wasn't something; it was someone!

A girl, a lovely girl!

She wasn't wearing anything revealing, just a nice red dress that covered most of her body and made her look stunning.

Her eyes began to search for someone, and then they landed on me. And it appears that the world has come to a halt at that point.

Her eyes are quite appealing, and all of her innocence is encapsulated in the shape of her button-like nose. She was interrupted by a boy who offered her a glass of water before her eyes could properly see me and her brain could memorize me. He appears to be her boyfriend, in my opinion.

Maybe I shouldn't care.

I opened my phone to divert my attention. But I'm not sure why I couldn't concentrate on anything in particular. When I looked up, I saw that boy holding her hand and looking into her eyes, indicating that he is madly in love with her. He then dragged her out onto the dance floor.

How dare he drag her around like that? What if she is injured?

They started dancing, but I'm not sure why the girl doesn't seem at ease with that guy.

So what the hell is she doing dancing with him? She can simply say no to him. He couldn't possibly force her to do anything!

My blood boiled when I saw how that guy was holding her waist. But, hey, why am I getting so worked up about her when she means nothing to me?

Then my phone rang, and I went outside the club to retrieve it. And she was nowhere to be found when I returned. "Who are you looking for, Atharva? Is there a girl here... Hmm? Don't be afraid to tell me." In a mocking tone, Prem inquired. "Shut up prem! And If you are done with your childish behavior then shall we leave?" "Oh, why am I asking you? In fact, I am leaving!" I exclaimed. "Oh, I'm coming," he said as he ran behind me because he hadn't brought his car.

I was only thinking one thing the entire time: WHO WAS SHE?
