Bet you weren’t expecting that? Haha! It’s about to get intense!!!!! I want to spill but I’ll control myself. lol… See yA!
{Isla’s POV}What’s wrong with my eyes? This has to be a trick of some sort.I gazed at the face of the Praised brother standing before me more intensely now and I was still arriving at the same freaking conclusion. I was staring at Shrill-voice. The face was a little bit rough but it was still him.“What are you doing standing so close to him?” I heard Cayden’s voice and then I felt his hand push me away from Shrill-voice. “You’re into Muscle Rogues now?” He asked, glaring at me. My gaze was still on the figure so Cayden turned to look at him too. He inched away once his gaze rested on Shrill-voice. He was also dazed.I needed an explanation. I needed to fucking understand things before my brain burned up, so I stepped closer to him.“Shrill-voice?” I said again but the figure who was Shrill-voice only bent down to pick up his mask. He attempted to put it on but I stopped him, holding the mask.“Hey! Talk to me. I’ve already seen your face. I know it’s you. What’s going on?” I said
{Isla’s PoV}“Why are they dressed like that?” “Animal skins?”“No furnished houses?”“What are those markings on their bodies?”“Why are their skins so dry?”“Why are all the males shirtless?”Cayden and I were standing at a point not far from the border entrance of the Pack. And since we were there, I had been bombarding him with random questions from my confusion pool, while he just stared at the scene before us. No one had noticed us yet.“My goodness. It’s the Queen!” A high-pitched voice yelped beside us. Oops. Spoke too soon.We turned around to see a very young She-wolf standing there with a big grin on her face. But then the grin vanished. “You are the Queen, right?” She asked me, studying my body right. “I mean, you look like her, facially. But royally, not that much.” She observed, noticing how tattered and dirty I was.I looked at Cayden and then I looked back at the girl. “Yes. I am the Queen.” I said and the young girl grew back her smile and started jumping.“The Quee
{Isla’s POV}I followed closely behind Zitumi and I couldn’t stop the frown that claimed my face. Guess I didn’t like the fact that a frail old lady was saying she’d humiliate me. How?I was the Queen and other than that, I’m a young, strong, and healthy female. And she’s… she’s a fucking old lady.I didn’t say anything until we got to a sandy area in the middle of a vast field. Zitumi stopped at a corner and faced me while I stood at a distance opposite her. The crowd, a.k.a; Zitumi’s weird-looking people that had followed us, surrounded the area now, making the battle area more obvious.I still couldn’t believe I was about to fight an old lady.Well, she was an old lady who taunted me— Said I wasn’t worth her fear and worth my potential. That’s a very insulting thing to say.I trained my eyes on the Zitumi now. She removed a heavily beaded necklace that was on her neck and handed it to her niece, that young She-wolf that squealsZitumi took off some more beads and handed them to
{Isla’s POV}I watched the mighty tree crash to the ground and then Zitumi. I immediately rushed to her. Shock was still on my face due to what she had just done to the tree, but then panic was starting to replace it due to what she might have done to herself.Fortunately, she wasn’t unconscious so Cayden and I propped her up and helped her sit.“Are you okay?” I asked her as her eyes trailed to meet mine. “I will be fine.” She said and scared me. What did she mean by she’ll be fine?“It’s your turn now.” She told me and scared me even more.I turned to look at Cayden and he purposely avoided eye contact.“I am just a normal werewolf. But you’re more than that, My Queen. I can only uproot a tree because the force within me is so little, but you can do more than that if you put your heart to it.”I looked at her and sincerely told her. “If lifting a tree made you this way, there’s no way I’m doing it.” “I think you should give it a try.” Cayden said and I shot him a glare. I knew he
{Isla’s POV}For the first time in my life, running felt hard. My legs felt heavy but my heart was heavier. It felt like..Cayden occasionally inched to my side to prompt me to keep running as it was obvious that I didn’t want to. I didn’t see the reason anymore.I felt like stopping and crying or dying— or both. I needed freedom from this pain, this guilt that was building up in my chest, knowing that I ran away from my duty, knowing that I sacrificed a whole pack for my escape. As a result of my sluggishness and staggering, some of the Lycans caught up to us. Cayden had to lose the Lycans in the woods and take me into hiding so the Lycans wouldn’t spot us and surround us— as their numbers was nothing we could face.— Well, he could face. I was going to fight even if it was the devil that wanted to kill me. I felt bruised emotionally and it made breathing seem pointless. We were currently cached inside a thick bush patch and while Cayden was on the lookout, I was busy tearing out. I
{Isla’s POV}The journey back to the palace wasn’t a friendly one. I had grown tired, hungry, and cold and had still gotten nowhere near my destination.A part of me wanted to return to Zitumi’s Pack and see if I could make recompense but I had promised myself not to stop along the way. Besides, going there might just strike me with a heartbreak I wouldn’t be able to bear. I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if I saw their dead and wasted bodies. So I made another difficult decision and forced myself to continue on my way. A lot weighed on my mind as I went. A lot like…Andrea and Emkay… and the rest. Where would they be? Could they have returned to the Palace? Or were they still lost in a war I was oblivious to?That last part scared me to my spine, and I really hoped it wasn’t the case. There was a lot I felt guilty for.I also wondered if Lily was okay and if her father, the Praised Brother working for Lycans, was still alive. It would scourge me if I found out he was killed
{Isla’s POV}My smile was made to vanish when the claws of the Rogue before me wiped it off and replaced it with blood. My blood.I stumbled away a bit— mostly due to shock and not the force of the blow but then the Rogues misunderstood my movements as two others rushed to grab my hands, seizing me to a standstill. The one that had bashed me stepped closer to me. He looked like their leader.“Are you insane, Rogue?” He asked me, glaring at me from my head, down. None of them recognized who I was. I must really look like shit!I stared between all of them before me. None of them looked familiar. They had dirt all over them and didn’t look anything like the Rogues I had seen over at the Lycan Hold. These were just regular Rogues.“You don’t speak?!” The Rogue leader gripped my jaw roughly and in the process. gripped the gaping wound on my cheek. The sting shot through me in hurtful waves and I couldn’t tolerate it anymore.I forced out one of my hands that was clasped behind my back by
{Isla’s POV}We looked like a wave of weary refugees as we trudged towards the Palace gates. The guards had seen us and the alarm on their faces was very visible. They panicked and communicated that the alarm should be sounded. I suddenly felt like it would be too much drama alerting the whole Palace forces in vain— even though it would be fun to watch. So I turned to the Rogues trailing behind me.“Halt!” I yelled. “Stop and wait here until I tell you to come.” I said and started racing towards the Palace gates. I needed to get there and make them realize that it was me before they sounded the alarm. It was a wrong move. The guards saw me as an incoming threat and some of them started racing towards me to fight me. My guards were trying to stop me from entering the Palace. How crazy.Okay, on a more serious note. My guards were about to freaking fight me. They got to me and immediately started throwing fierce punches and claws at me. I evaded their blows, being conscious of the f
