Chapter 61 ~ Happiest Man Alive

{Cayden’s POV}

I had left the Generals on the fields with the recruits. Recruiting more warriors was important but settling my uneasiness was more paramount.

The way my Mum had acted was odd and I needed to shake this feeling off of me that’s telling me that my mum had been telling the truth.

Isla had given my mother a concussion. That’s the truth.

I believe Ivanka and I believe the truth!

But for some reason, knowing the truth wasn’t settling my sudden uneasiness. I still needed to talk to Isla.

I paced through the entrance now and down some hallways. There was clanging and hammering as workers were scattered around and already rebuilding the distorted parts of the Palace. Finance wasn’t an issue around here.

I got to the wide corridor that led to Isla’s room. I’ve been here before, so I knew the routes well.

As I drew closer, the maids that were strolling out of her chambers bathed me with seductive gazes.
