59: You don’t love me

Hana was seated on the swing attached to the treehouse when she saw KJ walk to the interconnected mini basketball field with a ball. He bounced it on the floor, unaware of the person watching him. She wasn’t sure if to leave or stay. There was a ladder in case she wanted to climb up to the treehouse.

Kyle didn’t love her. She shouldn’t be upset since she was the one who told him love didn’t matter to her. But if the rest of his family could love her, why couldn’t he? She stopped swinging when Kyle walked out of the house. He curved a hand over his forehead as if searching for someone, and she tried to shrink into herself. She was right when she told him he did nothing wrong, but his response still hurt her feelings.
