I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw Ginny standing at my doorstep. It had been months since we had last seen each other, and I had made it clear to her that I had moved on with my life. Yet here she was, uninvited and unannounced.

“Hey, Simon,” she said with a smile, but I could see the desperation in her eyes. “Can I come in?”

I hesitated for a moment before nodding, not wanting to be rude. But as soon as she stepped inside, I felt a sense of discomfort. It was like she didn’t belong there, and I didn’t want her there.

“What brings you here, Ginny?” I asked, trying to keep my tone neutral.

“I just wanted to see you,” she said, looking around my living room. “I missed you, Simon.”

I felt a pang of guilt in my chest, knowing that I had hurt her in the past. But I couldn’t change the fact that I had moved on, and I was in love with someone else.
