Before I got to the bus stop, I screamed because a luxury car splashed a pool of muddy water all over my clothes. The luxury car stopped in front of me, and soon the driver got out of the car using a black umbrella. My hands clenched even tighter when I saw Davero approaching.
"Oops. Sorry, Agnes. I really didn't do it on purpose," he said innocently as he stood in front of me.
I just snorted in annoyance because I didn't want to respond to anything and chose to leave immediately.
"Agnet!" Davero said, while I flinched as my wrist was grabbed by him. "Come in! I'll take you."
I waved my hand vigorously in refusal and said, "No need, sir. Thank You. Excuse me."
I rushed to leave, but again he took my arm. "As your boss, I order you to get in the car, Agneta!" said Davero with such pressure that it was hard for me to swallow.
Like it or not, I obeyed his orders by getting into the car. He caught up and threw his umbrella into the backseat, quickly getting ready to drive the car. This heart feels like it is beating very fast; it even feels very suffocating. I don't know what it feels like, but everything remains the same as five years ago. Everything is still beating fast, my blood is racing, and of course I hate it so much. Yes, I hate it!
"Eh?"
I gasped. Suddenly, Davero was about to wipe my cheek with a tissue.
Sorry. Since then, you have daydreamed. I just want to clean the stains on your neck and cheeks," he said.
I immediately took a new tissue and cleaned the stain myself. Davero sighed and threw away the tissue he was holding carelessly.
"So, where should I take you?" Davero asked, breaking the silence.
"Until the next intersection."
"Not the street, but your house. I don't like dropping off a woman on the side of the road," Davero said.
His words disgusted me. Just say you want to sleep with the woman you're dropping off. Damn it!
"Now where else?"
"I'll just get off here," I said.
"Fine, if you don't want to say it. That means you're coming home to my apartment."
"What!" I gasped in shock at his remarks, which made no sense.
"Tell me quickly, Agneta!" He glanced at me with one eyebrow raised.
"Right," I replied sarcastically.
Damn, he grinned smugly enough to make me sick. Hopefully Regan is still at Sonya's so Davero doesn't see her. I am not ready.
"Now where?"
"Enter the gate in front."
"You live in a settlement?" asked Davero, frowning as he drove through the arch.
"Where do you think I will live? Apartments or luxury housing, right?" I quipped.
Davero frowned even more, looking at the muddy, damaged, and dirty streets. I knew he wouldn't want to go to a place like this, so of course I hoped he'd give up walking me home.
"Stop at that brown house!" I said, pointing towards the house I rented.
Davero stopped the car and asked, "You live in this house?"
"Yes, Master Davero. This is my home. My palace," I said as I rushed down the road without saying thank you. After all, he himself forced me.
I walked to the door of the house and put the key in the lock.
"It's very dirty in here."
That comment shocked me, and I immediately turned around. It turned out that the crazy human was following me.
"What do you want now?"
"I?" Davero asked while pointing at himself, and it made me roll my eyes.
"Of course you are, Master Davero. Why follow me? You better get going," I said angrily.
"I've taken you all the way. Won't there be a thank you and an offer of tea for me?" Davero asked casually, putting his hands into his trouser pockets.
"Thank You. Now go home. I don't have tea stock at home," I said, trying to shoo him away.
"Water is not a problem. There's no way there's no stock of water, right?" He said it was more relaxed and annoying.
What can I do? I lost badly. This asshole makes me want to grab him, always as he pleases.
"Are we just going to chat outside like this?"
I grunted in annoyance and opened the door, knowing that serving this one human would only make my emotions rise.
He barged in and sat on the sofa. He said as he started laying his feet on each other, "It's fresher and smells nicer here than outside."
I didn't respond and kept walking towards the kitchen to get some water for him. I thought about just serving tap water so he would have a stomach ache and give up coming here again. However, what if it caused an infection in his intestines and I was also charged with the motive of poisoning someone? I reversed my intention about the tap water.
Finally, I chose a gallon of water to be served to him. There was no tea for him unless he picked the tea leaves himself.
"This. Quickly finish it and go home," I said, keeping the glass on the table in front of Davero.
"Okay. I'll be leaving after this drink is finished," he said, then grinned. "By the way, how long have you lived here? Why did you move from Semarang?"
"None of your business," I said sarcastically, still standing.
"I am your boss. It's natural for me to know about my own employees. I don't want to have employees who are not clear, like terrorists. Later, my company will go bankrupt," he said indifferently as he took a glass to take a very small sip.
I was stunned to hear his story. Can someone assist me in removing this one individual from my home? Unfortunately, there isn't.
"You can ask that directly to the HR managerial section," I said.
"I want to ask each employee directly. Data can be manipulated."
God, I'm exhausted from conversing with this annoying man. I can only answer that.
"I've lived here for five years but only joined your company about three years ago. The reason I moved from Semarang is none of your business."
"You haven't changed, Neta."
I'm just silent.
"I always like to see you talk at length. You look so adorable." His words sickened me and made me nervous.
Why is it like this, anyway?
"Bundaa!"
sigh!
Regan came home.
"Mother!" I saw Regan run to me and hug me.
"Ha-hi, honey." I returned the hug and glanced at Dave, who was watching us.
"Mother, Aunt Ilen didn't come in because there was a car in front. So Auntie just hung up on Egan until the end," he babbles.
"Your son?" Davero broke the awkwardness.
Regan turned to Davero; they looked at each other and studied each other.
"Regan." I quickly diverted my son's attention. "Come on, say hi to Uncle Dave!"
"Yes, Mother." Regan walked over to Davero, who was still staring at Regan intensely. Obviously, it makes this heart beat faster and want to jump out of place.
Hello, Uncle Dave. My name is Egan." Regan said it with a wide, childish grin and chubby cheeks.
Davero was frozen in place, still staring at Regan, and so stiff when Regan reached out his hand for a kiss.
"You are married?" Dave asked, much to my relief that Davero didn't seem to notice any resemblance whatsoever.
"I guess it's none of your business," I said firmly.
"Mother, Egan is going to Kamal," Regan said.
I nodded and let Regan into her own room. It was better than him staying here and making the man suspicious and realize something.
"Agneta, are you married?" asked Davero in a growling voice.
"Not your business!" He responded, which surprised me. "It seems you have to go home, Pak Wiratama, because I have to take care of my son."
He stared at me until he finally looked away when he said he was going home. I watched his movements as he got up from the couch and walked out of this house. I finally breathed a sigh of relief when I heard the roar of a car driving away. I felt my heart was almost out of my mouth and half of my life was gone. I felt very weak.
When will everything last? Gradually, he will realize who Regan is. I'm not ready for that, Lord!
Davero sat and stared intently at one point in front of him. His hand gripped a cocktail glass with a little ice mixed in. His memory drifted to the incident at Agneta's house. That kid, Regan, There was another feeling that Davero could feel, but he didn't know what was going on. The touch of Regan's tiny hand seemed to be able to reach his cold and dark heart. Davero had never liked small children, but the boy was an exception for him.He took out his cell phone and called someone to give orders."Find out about his life and report it to me immediately!"The line was then hung up, and Davero gulped down his drink before he heard a shriek."You're having a great time relaxing here, while I have to finish all the damn work!""Aiden?" he muttered."Well, it's me! I did not come as your representative in the company! I came as your cousin, and stop keeping me busy!""You are more mature and experienced than me. So it's natural for you to finish everything."Dave said it casually as he p
"Are you sure that she is the girl from your past, Dave?" asked Kay when she was in her superior's room."Are you doubting me, Kay?" asked Davero in a cold tone."It's not like that, but..." Key did not continue his words."Are you two uncomfortable working with me?" Davero asked, annoyed."You're taking things too seriously, Boss!" Key replied with a wry smile."Yes, don't take it too personally, Boss!" Kay said calmly, all of which made the corners of Dave's lips lift."Find out about Agneta's life, who is her husband and her child's biological father, understand?" Dave asked to make sure once again and made his two friends nod."Yes alright. We'll start right away, Boss. So don't worry, all matters are handled by experts." Kay and Key smiled, looking at each other."Seeing you guys like that actually looks so cute and adorable," Davero commented with a grin."Then we'll excuse you," said Kay, to which Key nodded, and they smiled wryly. The two of them stepped out of the room and a
Davero had just finished meeting with a client outside the office. Now he was in his limousine on the way home. His eyes stared out the car window; he recognized the road through Agneta's house and accidentally caught the figure of the little boy he had met a few days ago, Regan. The child was seen sitting on a swing in a deserted park. Davero immediately asked the driver to stop the car. He quickly smoothed down the front of his jacket before getting off to approach Regan."Not picked up yet?"Regan turned around; her round eyes, so cute and adorable, stared at Davero."Uncle?" Regan tried to remember a name.Davero, do you still remember?" asked Dave, making the boy nod enthusiastically."Uncle, Mother's work friend," Regan said with a lisp, which made Davero smile."Why are you alone?" Davero asked, still smiling. This is a rare occurrence, even very rare. Davero's figure smiled at a child, remembering the fact that Davero had never liked any child."Aunt Ilen hasn't picked up Egan
Agneta is restless at home. He had been tired of crying since hearing the last news from Iren. He was forced to go home early from work when he heard the news that Iren couldn't find Regan at school. Iren was indeed late picking her up because the motorcycle taxi that used to take her arrived late, but when she got there, it turned out that the school was empty and Regan wasn't around. Agneta had even gone there and looked for him, but she still couldn't find Regan. Agneta also contacted Aiden, but Aiden was having a meeting with Mr. Oktavio and said he would come right away when the meeting was over."Regan, where are you now?" sobbed Agnes. His heart pounded in pain. He had never lost Regan like this. Bad thoughts kept churning in her mind, especially now that cases of child kidnapping were rife, making Agneta even more worried and weak.Agneta's breath caught when she heard Regan's laughter. He ran out of the house, shouting the name of his baby. However, her eyes widened when she
At that time, Aiden and Agneta were in the car heading to the office. Aiden asked about Regan's condition because, when he picked up Agneta's house, he didn't meet Regan."He is fine and remains as cheerful as ever. I already told Regan not to accept solicitations from anyone, including my co-workers." Agnes explained.Agneta is still upset when she remembers that Regan left with Davero yesterday without anyone knowing. Agneta felt anxiety still lingering in her mind."But I didn't know that in our office there is an employee named Vero, especially in your division." Aiden was still surprised, and that made Agneta a little confused, and her tongue felt numb to answer."He is not an employee in the office. Maybe I misspoke. He was a friend of mine when we were in school, and recently it was a coincidence that we met again," said Agneta without wanting to look at Aiden."Oh, I see?" Aiden tries to believe him, especially since Agneta has never lied to him."Yes," said Agneta, turning to
Agneta came to the office feeling lethargic; she had to go alone because Aiden had no news from last night. He had just landed his ass on the chair, and Sonya immediately popped her head from behind the cubicle."Your face is so gloomy. Are you sick or have a problem?" asked Sonya, while Agneta just took a deep breath. "Well, he took a really long breath; it felt really heavy like that.""I don't know," answered Agneta casually. It's clear that Aiden's mother disapproves of his relationship with Aiden, and that makes Agneta's feelings for Aiden shrink again. Her heart, which had begun to open and accept Aiden, was now slowly closing again. At first, he wanted to protect Aiden from Davero, but if this were the case, then it seemed he would only suffer more."Well, even dumbfounded. What's the problem, anyway?" asked Sonya, who had now entered Agneta's cubicle by pulling up her chair to sit near Agneta."I'm just thinking about work. Now we are holdi
Davero steered his car down a quiet street and unbuckled his seat belt, then changed his seat to face Agneta."Leave him, or I will force you to leave him!" asked Davero, glaring angrily."You have no right to interfere in my life, Davero!" retorted Agneta fiercely.Dave leaned even more in front of the evasive Agneta and was cornered against the door."You forgot, Agnes. You are mine! Only mine! Both then and now and later Forever, you are mine.""I am not yours and will never belong!" Agneta's words were stopped because Dave immediately covered Agneta's lips.Agneta continued to struggle with Davero's greedy kiss by hitting his back to break free, but the kiss softened and hypnotized Agneta. Undeniably deep inside his heart, he longed for this touch. The touch that always managed to hypnotize him and make all his organs soften and follow Davero's orders"You remember, you are liquid, and I am solid. You will always follow me, Agneta
"Ouch."Agneta bumped into and spilled the drink on the clothes of someone in front of her. Reflexively, he immediately took out a few pieces of tissue from the sling bag and cleaned the person's clothes nervously."It's okay, Agnes."The sound immediately made Agneta raise her head, and their gazes met immediately."Brother Davero?" he muttered."Never mind, it's okay." Davero smiled. "You are alone?" Davero asked, awakening Agneta from her fixation. She immediately looked away with blushing cheeks, then adjusted her glasses."Yeah, I'm alone." Agneta looked down because she felt even more embarrassed and nervous. He didn't dare look Davero directly in the eye."You want to come home with me?" asked Dave.Agneta's heart was beating faster and faster. He couldn't speak when he was with Davero. He was like a liquid, and Davero was the solid. Liquids that are only able to follow solids and fill the space"No, sis. I can go
