His Lifeline

Where could have she gone? He upped the speed and raced his car towards the restaurant as the water droplets hit his windshield in quick succession. In no more than ten minutes, he parked in front of that restaurant. He got out of the car. The driver rushed over to him with an umbrella and placed it above him. 

Killian looked around in search of her but she was nowhere. It was 2 in the morning. The roads were deserted and the shops were closed. It was only him and his driver standing in the middle of the road under the heavy rain. 

He started taking long urgent strides towards the ice cream parlor where he had left her. Despite the bone-chilling weather, his insides were burning with anxiety. He had to find her. The driver had to run to match his pace with an umbrella in his hand.
