"You killed them?" I hissed, watching Julian's movements cautiously as he moved toward his desk with a crazed look sparkling in his eyes.
"They challenged me," he shrugged, lowering himself into his seat in such a graceful manner that it made me wonder how he was such a brute within, "I gave them the chance to leave but they chose to challenge me. If I let them walk free after that, then I would be the weak one and the little respect that my kind does show me will not matter anymore. I'd have a civil war on my hands, one that I do not need at the moment. Making an example of them was necessary. I cannot have someone trying to dethrone me."
