Chapter 6

“some one is coming! We have to leave now, Red!” The male voice came through with energy and immediately, rustles filled the room and then silence.

My hands were shaking, I felt like my world was coming to an end, I mentally counted to ten to be sure they were out, I could have died tonight and Tony with my kids will think I left them and ran, the whole world will think I ran. there’s no way in hell I’m going to stand by and let Louis or whoever is trying to kill me tell me when to die or what to do.

When I was sure no one was there, I instantly pushed the small door open and crawled out, the room was empty, this was just my first day here and I was already marked for death, great!

Rushing to the box by the side of the room, I began ransacking it for clothes or anything I could change into and use as a disguise, telling from the time, it was three pm at midnight, my work scrubs would do nothing but give me away faster.

Picking up the place oversized top I found and a black nose mask, i put it on, the top barely covered me totally but it would do.

Opening the door to the room the smallest bit slowly, I observed the environment, for those people to come in and try to kill me, it meant the security wasn’t as tight as I thought it was, two guards walked up to the middle of the corridor and looked over the arena for exactly five seconds before turning back to opposite direction. That was my exact que to run, and so I did.

****

I knew these woods like the back of my hands, I wished I didn’t but I did because Louis and I played here all the time, we had built a lot of ant houses and holes as a prank for the morning guards that ran here every morning. I couldn’t change to my wolf form because I already cut her off with herbs so I had to depend on my legs and pray to the moon it would take me far enough.

I began running once I was sure I was out of the sight of any guard, I took the same route I took the last time I ran, the rough ground and dried leaves scraping behind my bare foot and they stepped on them with spead, I was almost there, the boarders between this pack and the outside world, I would at least have a little bit of network to contact my kids and tell them I didn’t abandon them.

Within seconds, my body came in contact with something hard in an intense hit, one that made me stumble to the ground.

“Ow..” I winced out in fear as pain eluded my body, the joy I once had came crashing down to the ground when I looked up to his furrowed brows and intense gaze.

“Hello Sweetheart.” A smirk tugged at the corner of his lips, the moonlight emulating his already handsome features. “I have been waiting for you.”

Tears filled my eyes and I hated how fast they got there. I wasn’t weak, not anymore. “What the hell do you want from me? And don’t you dare use your father’s sickness to hide.”

He tucks his hand into his black jean that he wore with a black round neck top and casually strode towards me, my first instinct was to run but I didn’t want him to see me as weak. “You changed, Venetta. But so have I, I’m not an alpha anymore, I’m a Lycan king and you’d watch your mouth while talking to me.” His voice was calm but carried every vibe it needed to. To the extent I felt the words vibrate through my body, my eyes widened.

He was a Lycan King, this was not good for me at all, they were more brutal than Alphas. I didn’t notice because I closed off my werewolf side. “I don’t care what you are, I want to leave, the more you keep me captive here, the more I rebel.”

He was right in front of me and I was still on the ground, looking up to him, “let’s play a game, Ven.”

He looked around the woods like he remembered what it meant to us before, “What exactly about what I said didn’t your head grasp?”

He squatted down to meet my height, his hand softly went to my lower lips but kept his eyes on mine, a part of me wanted to move away, I shut off my wolf but I was still a werewolf and he was right, he was still a Lycan, My Lycan, no matter how much I tell myself I don’t belong here, I know for a fact that a part of me is still tied to this pack, fear eluded my body at the fact that he could tear me into two right now and no one would know.

“We’d have to work on these lips…” I pushed his hand away with my free one and hurried stood off the ground, keeping the distance between us, like my thighs weren’t quivering. “I told you what would happen if those lips were not tamed and trust me, I have no problem fulfilling it.”

“I was almost killed tonight, why the hell would I stay in a place my life isn’t even secured.”

“You want to leave so bad and I’m trying so hard to not tie you down and claim you.” He straightened his posture and my brows rose up in confusion.

“What do you mean by that?”

He continued, completely ignoring me. “I’m giving you one last chance to Run, Ven. I’ll count to five and I’m going to chase you, if you pass these wood and the pack’s boundaries before I catch you, you are free to go from there, back to the human world you love so much.”

“What happens if I can’t escape? You’d chain me up here forever?” I folded my fists in anger.

“If I catch you before you reach the boundary, I’ll mark you, I won’t care if your answer is yes or no, you will be mine, and the gods help me because I won’t mind breaking every Will power and walls you’ve built until you accept it, you will belong to me, Every. part. Of. You.”
